MD5
the MD5 of the bytes of a calibration can be used to verify that a calibration in the control unit is the same as a that of a calibration previously downloaded to disk.
Calculate MD5 of the calibrations downloaded from the control unit and save the result on file
Enables saving the MD5 of the calibrations downloaded from the ECU to file.
Enable the calibration MD5 verification command
Enables a command that allows you to browse a file containing the MD5 of the bytes of a previously downloaded calibration and check the equality with the MD5 of the calibration bytes on the ECU.
Enable HDP-CRP management:
Enables the corresponding menu item
Show the device name for binary files for binary files included in HDP and CRP files
Store the device name for binary files included in CRP files
Enable flashing of files in HDR CPT HDP CRP format:
Enable the ability to flash files with these extensions. These are preset files that contain all the information to program the control unit even if the device with which they were generated is missing.
Ignore possible presence of crypting dongle:
In the case where it is necessary to program certain types of software in an encrypted form, it is necessary to ask EFI to program the encryption keys within the sw of the communication interface. During the programming of the sw, ECT will read the encryption keys from the interface and will thus be able to encrypt the sw before sending it to the ECU. However, it may occur that the same user has to program with the same interface other types of sw which must not be encrypted. In this case the user can inhibit the use by ECT of the keys stored in the interface by checking this option.

Continuous check of consistency between selected device and ECU Firmware
The ELF-oriented device, when they are connected to the PC through the USB interface, are able to transmit a string identifying the version of firmware. Consequently, ECT is able to check whether the string received from the controller is equal to the contents of the corresponding variable stored in the XML database of the device and derived from the ELF file used to define the database. In the event that the 2 variables, the one received from the controller and the one stored in the database, do not match, ECT notifies the inconsistency blocking communication and yellow colouring the background of the text box that indicates the communication id of the selected device. The option in question can disable this check, which would involve a demand on the CAN line approximately every 2.5 sec.
Continuous check of the encryption status
Enables real-time verification of the presence of encryption keys in the communication interface. The presence of the keys is shown on the screen in an icon in the command bar.
Detect and use removable drives
Enable detection and use of removable drives. If active, it allows you to select the files to be flashed also on removable drives.
Use network drives
Enable the use of network drives. If active, it allows you to select the files to be flashed also on network drives.
Name and date calibration element management:
The main calibration and the setup calibration contain a field that stores the name and date of calibration. The following options allow you to manage the synchronization strategy between name and date of the file and the content of the field ‘name and date’ of the calibration.
Enable the change of name and date when saving
If this option is enabled, after downloading a calibration, ECT asks if it has to update the name and date of calibration stored in the calibration using the file name and the current date of the PC. If this option is disabled, the field of the calibration will remain unchanged.
User is prompted to confirm the change of name and date when saving
This option can enable/disable the request to confirm the change of the name and date field. If this option is disabled and the previois option is enabled, ECT will automatically modify the the name and date field.
